“Aw-right,” states Henry Wood, sitting on the running board of his truck down at Woodville, “we’ve been having forest fires, but you can’t blame it on the board of supervisors. What we did don’t amount to a hill of beans, anyhow, and even though I didn’t hold with the rescinding of the fire laws, I still say there’s no use blaming the board of supervisors for something they didn’t do!”
It's dry weather—and it’s been plenty dry—is the main reason for all the fires, continues Mr. Wood, and people’s carelessness in the forests is more cause of fires than any action taken by the county governing body.
