A million matches can be made from one tree, but one match in the hands -of a careless person may destroy well over a million trees. Everyone is asked to be careful with matches, cigarette h.tts and to take time out to clean up rubbish heaps that create tire hazards around their premises. The dead plants, leaves, etc., are tinder dry. Rainfall has been negligible . . . winds have been high and persistent, ill of which say: ( itizens be cartful . . . extra careful with hie. In fact, we haven t had any rain since March 21th. Smoke was noted in many sections of the county last Sunday and I dare say om Volunteer fire companies of this and adjoining counties have fought more brush _and field files this spring than in many a year.
