Legionnaires reported seeing a large number of Japanese Beetle grubs along the highways near Sperryville, when digging holes in connection with their beautification started last Saturday. Farmers are reminded that to become lax in combatting this pest is but an invitation to trouble. Milky disease spur dust is still the best material that can be used as a permanent Jap beetle control measure when in the grub stage of its life cycle. Our Board of Supervisors last year made spore d-st available to farmers at 50 percent of the purchase price, which actually is but 25 per cent of the retail cost. Spore dust can be purchased at the treasurer’s office, and is distributed through the Agent's office. Farmers having fhade recent purchases are: R. M. Menefee 4 lbs.; and Mrs. Alexander Gordon 80 lbs. Mrs. Gordon intends to apply an additional eighty pounds in.tire near future.
