Cancer Sunday To Be
Observed In Vriginia
Cancer Sunday -will be observed April 23 by churches and Sunday schools throughout Vlirginfa, as part of the 1950 Cancer Crusade which is being conducted this month by the Virginia Division, American Cancer Society.
At these services emphasis will be laid o« the importance of the public’s co-operating with the fight against cancer by supporting the Cancer Society's program of research, education, and service. Special effort is being made to educate the public about cancer, its danger signals, and the necessity for early treatment. The crusade also includes solicitation of funds to finance the Society’s vast, program of research for simple methods of cancer cure and control, as well as the service program for cancer patients and the cost of administration and cancer literature.
Governor John S. Battle is honorary chairman of the State campaign, and Dr. Guy R. Fisher, is State campaign chairman.
