Beauty Contest
The beauty contest held Friday evening, April 14, at Sperryville High School proved to be a success in making money for the school lunchroom and in bringing out the beauties of the neighborhood.
The young charmer who copped the winning place among the preschool misses was Dana Snead.
Peachey Lyne was the winning beauty of the second class, grades 1-3. Judy Black pulled top place in the third class, grades 4-5; Ruth Frazier, grades 6-8; Joan Brown, high school; and Miss Peggy Pruett, young ladies out-of-school. Top place in the mother-daughter class went to Mrs. R. M. Menefee and Little Miss Sandra Menefee.
Judges were Mr. Cheatham, Mr. Stoutameyer, and Mrs. H. C. Warwick.
Proceeds will be used to pay last year’s lunchroom deficit.
