MRS. VIRGIL R. UPDIKE BREAKS BONE IN ANKLE
Mrs. Virgil Updike, who broke a small bone in her ankle while in her yard talking to a neighbor, last Thursday afternoon, is doing nicely. Mrs. Updike was immediately rushed to Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal, where her ankle was x-rayed and a cast applied. Friday afternoon Mrs. Updike was moved to the home of her mother, Mrs.^A. M. Verner, where she will remain until she is able to perform her home duties. Mr. and Mrs. Updike have an upstairs apartment i» the home of Miss Margaret Compton.

Schools Open Sept. 2
The Rappahannock County Schools will open on Tuesday, Sept. 2, with all day session. No permanent schedule has been worked outT so all busses will run on last session’s pro'gram.
