Miss Bessie Hawkins returned to her home here on Friday after spending a week with her mother, Mrs. Lucille Hawkins in Bethesdar'^Md. While there she was a guest on Thursday of Mr and Mrs. Carl Hofer of Washington, -D. C, who took her on a sightseeing tour. J. Rodes Brown Jr. is spending this week in Charlottesville where he is attending a Bankers’ Convention.
Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Aylor left on Monday to spend a weeks vacation in Atlantic City. Mrs. W. H. Lyne and daughter and son, Peachy and David are spending this week in Toano with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Cottrell, while Mr. Lyne is at VPI in Blacksburg.
