She has petted and humored the vines, and now the show-off product is being exhibited. When I report that some of the cantaloupes were swung in hammocks on the fence, I'm not telling something you needn’t believe; I saw them.
I root evergreens for a parttime hobby. About three varieties of English boxwood I’ve had pretty good luck with, but my favorite task is trying to root something impossible; such as, trying to get a long-leaf pine to grow in this climate, completely foreign to its nature. I probably won't succeed; but I'll have just as much fun as does the lady who hangs cantaloupes in hammocks on the fence.
A hobby can't hit me too seriously. I’ve seen people who collected beer steins, postage stamps, or buttons with a zeal religious in fervor. I can’t get that excited over a hobby, but if they enjoy their extreme participation in proportion to the fun I derive from small hobbies, then, more power to ’em.
