In “Slips that pass in the type’’ and other such columns, magazines enjoy collecting the numerous typographical (and other) errors that appear in small country papers and large city dailies. We get a kick out of them, too, provided they didn’t come from our paper.
There’s one in the paper this week that’s too good to change. It came ,as regular publicity release from headquarters of the Blue Ridge Music Festival in Richmond. We saw the funny side of it immediately, so we accidentally-on-purpose left it alone. The first part of the paragraph stated that the concerts will be moved to “the Stuyvesant Bam” and a few lines below is a quote saying that “music lovers will find these surroundings well suited for programs of recital nature.” The wise-cracks should be good; we can imagine a few.
