“Your directors felt that in vieiw of the financial position of the plant and the fact that it was just getting started, they could not endanger the verjr existence of the business by giving to employees something the business^ did not have. Wage increases cannot continue to be paid by borrowing more money.
“Having been advised by the Union that unless their demands were met, the employees were going on strike, your management before the strike) started c utting back production, and we are pleased to report that there will be no product losses as a result of the strike. All products have either 'been sold or placed in a freezer.
“This strike against you 1700 farmers and businessmen who own the business will, in any event, be expensive and a setback that will be hard to overcome. The problem is : what do you as owners of the business want to do about it? May we suggest that you contact your director immediately and give him the benefit of any ideas you may have as to 'best method of overcoming this situation.”
