Rappahannock Has $45,000
Defense Bond Quota For ‘53 -
Chairman J. Rodes Brown, Jr., of the Rappahannock Defense Bond Committee announces an assigned quota of $45,000 for the year 1953. Mr. Brown pointed out that the quota assigned is considerably in excess of total sales during either of the immediate past two years. He stated, “Sales of all four Series of Bonds, E. H. J. and K., will be credited against the quota at issue price. The assigned quota represents a challenge and will require an intensification of interest on the part, of our citizens who have invested in the past, and are now investing in Defense Bonds, as weir as the enlisted of new buyers. It is earnestly hoped' our people will respond by salting away a liberay portion of their present relatively high income in Defense Bonds. We can hardly hope for business to continue indefinitely at the present level. If and when the break comes, those who have had the fon»C sight and willingness to invest in defense Bonds will be in a better position to meet reversals.'
Mr. Brown pointed out that the assigned quota is a part of the $91,000,0000 State goal and a national goal of $5,650,000,000.
