On Saturday the 21st, two cars collided on Route 729. a mile north of Estes at 2:30 p. m. when they met on the crest of a hill, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin. The vehicles were a 51 Chevrolet owned by George F. Bailey and operated by Edith Delph, both of Culpeper, and a 55 Ford Station Wagon owned by Landon Walker and operated by his son Harold of Viewtown. There were no injuries in the accident and damage was estimated at $200 to each vehicle. Both drivers were charged with failing to drive to the right of the center of the road, said Mr. Buntin. A minor collision occurred in the center of Sperryville on Monday, August 23 at 3:20 p. m. and involved two vehicles. According to Trooper Willis, a 1965 Chevrolet Corvair owned by Joanne Cormack Baker of Wheaton, Md. and operated by Mildred Elizabeth Baker of Reva was rounding the curve in front of the Corner Store when an oncoming vehicle crossed the center of the highway and struck the Baker car.
