Country Music
Jubilee Sept. 5th
The hills and valleys will echo with music Sunday, Sept. 5, when a Country Music Jubilee will be held at Washington Carnival grounds, beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until dark. The popular Bobby Butler and his Country Caravan Show of Columbus, Ohio will be the feature attraction. Guest star will be Phyllis Ann Hamilton Also on the program are the Country Counts of Luray. The Jubilee is sponsored by the Washington Fire Co. and Rappahannock Rescue Squad. Admission is 75 cents per person with children under 12 admitted free. The public is invited to bring a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available on the grounds.
Contribution* Needed For Rummage Sale
Let us have those things you do not use. We can sell them at the Rummage Sale held in Washington Post Office Basement and benefit the Washing ton Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue Squad. The Sale starts September 2 and will continue every Thursday and Friday during September. Mrs. W. B. Jenkins will be pleased to receive all donated articles. Washington Ladies Auxiliary
Pupil*’ Book Exchange
The Washington PTA will be in charge of the book exchange for the pupils of the Elementary Sqjtool. A small charge will be made for handling books. They will' be at the school the mornings -of August 31, Sept, x 3 \ Reading and spelling bodies will be changed this year and will have to be bought from the school. This also applies to phono-visual and special read ing work books.
