Lt. Col. and Mrs. Norman Wilbur, Mrs. Iris Brooke and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Johnson attended the American Legion Picnic held Tuesday evening at the American Legion grounds, west of Culpeper. Carlyle Dofflemoyer of Culpeper, Kenneth Hitt and Charlie Deal of Stevensburg, Lacy Peters of Morristown and Clarence Dorsey stayed overnight August 6 at Pocomoke City, Md. They started early Saturday on a fishing trip out of Quimby, Va., returning home that night by way of the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel.
Mrs. Ldward Green had the misfortune to fall in her kitchen on Tuesday injuring her ankle. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jenkins and family were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jenkins and daughter of Front Royal and Mr. and M rsT'Jdh n fi y~G aTrie s. The Diet Jenkins’ grandson, Bill Jenkins of Front Royal was their guest from Friday until Tuesday.
On Sunday, August 15, Mr. and Mrs. George Thornhill I and Mrs. Vinda Kilby were i guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Green in Culpeper. The occasion was the 88th birthday of Mrs. Green’s and Mrs. Thornhill’s mother Mrs. M. K. Norris of Rixeyville. Mrs. Thornhill also celebrated her birthday the same day.
