Homecoming Sunday

Homecoming at Jeffersonton Methodist Church, Sunday, August 29 will feature The Rev. Randall Blankenship, Pastor of North Culpeper Charge, preaching in the 11 a.m. worship service, followed by lunch served in the Community Center and a Hymn Sing at 1:15 in the afternoon. Participating in the Hymn Sing along with the Jeffersonton Community Choir will be the Choir of Oak Dale Baptist Church under the direction of Mr. Loy Harris. Sunday’s services will commence a week of revival being shared with Oak Shade Methodist Church at Rixeyville. Monday evening's service will be held at Oak Shade at 7:45 p.m. alternating back and forth between the two churches through Friday, Sept. 3. A cordial invitation is extended to all those who wish to attend.

Revival at Five Forks

A Revival at Five Forks Church in Woodville will be held September 5 thru Septem ber 11 at 8 o’clock each evening. Elder Donald Barnes of Stafford, W. Va. will be the guest speaker, with the pastor Mack Morgan. The public is cordially invited to attend.

Machinist’s Mate First Class Richard V. Wayland, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.’ E. Wayland of Sperryville, is serving aboard the destroyer New, one of the recovery ships for the Project Gemini GT-5 (Gemini Titan-5) eight - day flight of astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles Conrad. His ship was located on a recovery station some 1,000 miles east of Cape Kennedy along the ground track of Gemini 5 during the powered flight phase and orbital insertion.
