National Service Life and United States Government Life Insurance policyholders paying premiums direct are sent punched card premium notices, Those paying premiums monthly are sent 12 punched card premium notices and 12 return envelopes for use during the policy year. Each card is imprinted to show the pre miums due date and the amount of the premiums. Policyholders paying premiums qua rterly, semiannually orannually are sent one punched card premium notice and one return envelope for each premium as it becomes due. Be sure to send the proper premium notice with the correct premium payment. Do not forward cash payments through the mail. ...Insert t,he_policy number, on checks or money orders in payment of premiums. Be sure to retain cancelled checks and money order stubs as proof of payment. Mail remittances before the due date of the premium. Consider the advantages of paying premiums quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Premiums paid in advance are paid at a reduced rate. It is more convenient and less annoying than paying premiums 12 times a year. The cost of purchasing stamps money orders, checks, is reduced. A bill is received as a reminder each time the premium becomes due. Consider paying premiums by deduction from benefit payments. If monthly benefit pay ments received from the Veterans Administration are large enough to pay the month ly premiums, ask the Regional Office making the payments to deduct the premium due each month and send it to the Insurance Center.
