Accomplishments
Evaluation of the recent Arts and Crafts Show was the topic of consideration at the regular meeting of the Rappahannock Arts and Crafts Project on Tuesday morning. Members of the Project expressed satisfaction with the interest shown in the Exhibit and with the number of visitors, in spite of the fact there were fewer items on display than last year. This was to be expected since most of the work shown this year was new work which had been done in the span of one year only. It is still the ambition of the Project to get everyone in the county who has an Art and Craft hobby to display at the Show once a year. If folks want to sell items next year some provision will be made and they should start now working toward that end. A silver offering amounting to $11.00 was given to the project to defer expenses and this paid for new display stands and postage. The Project wishes to thank everyone who chipped in with this donation. They want to thank also the following: everyone who displayed at the Show, everyone who served on committees and as hostesses, the Rappahannock Library, the Culpeper Planing Mill and Leggetts of Culpeper for giving discounts on supplies and to Mr. Aubrey Jenkins and Mr. Lucio Kilby for donating labor and lumber for display stands^ and the Rappahannock News for publicity coverage.
