In Banquet Ceremony

At the Banquet for the Commissioners of the Revenue Association of Virginia at their 46th annual meeting held in Richmond November 4 and 5 the Honorable C.H. Morrissett, State Tax Commissioner, was the honored guest. Mr. j ■Morrissett was feted with a surprise skit of "This is Your Life" with members of his family, friends and associates during his lifetime appearing to do him homage. Mrs. Roberta Spalding,-Rappahannock County Commissioner of the Revenue, had the honor of escorting Mr. Morrissett’s son Mr. Burts Low Morrissett to the platform for his appearance there. On Friday morning a Breakfast was given honoring tne thirteen Lady Commissioners and one honorary life member, the Lady Deputy Commissioners, the Lady Members of the Staffs of offices throughout the Commonwealth,of Virginia and the wives of the other Commissioners of the Revenue. The guest speaker at this affair was Mrs. Dorothy Shoemaker McDiarmid, Member of the Virginia House of Representatives, with an introductory speech by Mrs. Roberta Spalding.

The banquet was attended by a large number of officials and dignitaries of the State of Virginia.

Visitors To Park Increase 3.6?k Over October

Extremely good weather throughout the month of October brought a total of 364,500 visitors to Shenandoah National Park. This is a 3.6% increase over the same month last year when there were 351,600 visitors. Total visits to date this yearare 2,155,100 as compared to 2,134.900 for ; 1964.
