Injure Several
Milton M. Plumb of Monterey Va. was charged with falling to maintain control of his vehicle after it overturned near Sperryville on Route 211 Friday night. Trooper P. P. Dicks who investigated the crash, said Plumb was operating a 63 Ford station wagon going west when he lost control on a curve and turned over. He was not injured. Damage to the station wagon was estimated at $400. Gary, Lewis Deal of Peola Mills sustained lacerations to the head and lacerations and abrasions to his arm and leg when he was involved in a single-vehicle accident Friday evening at 5:40 p.m> on Route 231. According to Trooper K. L. Miller, Deal was traveling south when he attempted to negotiate a right curve. He crossed over to the left of the road and skidded down the shoulder sideways, then overturned several times. He was charged with reckless driving. Two West Virginia men sustained injuries when they crashed into a cement bridge abutment just south of Washington on Route 211 Thursday, January 6, at 6 p.m. Samuel Sherman Croy of Beckley, W. Va., operating a 56 Ford going north, apparently went to sleep, ran off the left of the road and struck the bridge. He received broken ribs and bruised kidney. Warren Gates Croy, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained bruises of the head and chest and both legs. The victims were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal by Rappahannock Rescue Squad. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $300 and to the bridge $200.
