Northern Virginia Power Company will change its name to The Potomac Edison Com - pany of Virginia, it was announced today by Charles D. Lyon, president of the electric utility. The change is effective with the filing, scheduled for today, of required notice with the State Corporation Commission at Richmond. The change is a change of name only, Mr. Lyon said, and will not affect corporate organization, personnel or procedures. Physical changes, sucl/ as building and vehicle identi\ fications, will take place over an extended period of months. The parent Potomac Edison Company is a Maryland corporation which serves portions of that state, as well as Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
