IMrs. Olive Dodson of Washington, Va., announces the engagement of her daughter, Mildred Katherine, to Joseph Samuel Dickens of Washington, D. C., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Dickens of Culpeper. Miss Dodson is the daughter of the late Douglas Dddson. She is a senior at Rappahannock County High School. Her fiance is a graduate of Culpeper County High School. He is employed by the National Geographic Society in Washington. No date has been set for the wedding.
peper was a Sunday overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hawkins and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. McDaniel were visitors Thursday of Mr. McDaniel’s sisters Mrs. Pearl Orndoff and Mrs. Aubrey Allen in Alexandria and Mr^k McDaniel’s sister Mrs. Blanche Rice and daughter Jane Hall Rice of Somerville. Sunday dinner guests of the McDaniels were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Coughlin of Culpeper.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jenkins visited Mrs. Jenkins aunt Mrs. Carrie Dodson at Nethers Mill Monday afternoon. Mrs. Dodson who will be 88 on the 28th of January is quite ill with flu. Mrs. Jenkins reports that her granddaughter Nancy Lee Fincham of Culpeper, who entered the University of Virginia Hospital on December 26 with double pneumonia, is improving.
