He said the amendments will cover two basic programs: the hospital and related care features, which will include almost all citizens aged 65 or older; and the voluntary medical insurance program, covering doctor bills and related costs. The recipient provides a $3 monthly contribution to finance the latter program, and must sign an enrollment form in order to participate. Lynn urged that all past-65 citizens sign for the supplemental benefits. He indicated that the program is expected to have a $52 million impact on the State in 19o7, including $35 million under Part A (the hospital provisions) and $17 million under Part B.
