Johnson, Jr. and John Walker Jenkins was appointed to do the same concerning the Sperryville School. These build ings will be vacated with the opening of the consolidated school in the fall. Dumping facilities for the county, a perpetual item on the agenda, came u nd e r discussion. Col. Norman Wilbur, appointed to study the ails and cure, reported contact with a commercial refuse service in a nearby county. The firm supplies dumping units which would be placed in each community and which would be emptied and replaced weekly. It was thought nine units would be necessary to cover the courv ty and a rough estimate of yearly costs of such a service would be about $7800.00. A representative of the refuse company will appear at the July meeting of the Board for further discussion. A hospital bill submitted by the Welfare Department was approved for payment as were current obligations approved before adjournment.
Dance Scheduled June 21 At Sperryville Fire Hall
There will be a rock and roll dance at the Sperryville fire hall on Friday, June 21, 1968 from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Music will be provided by the Jaguars and admission is $1.50 per person. Men must wear coats and ties. Sponsors of the dance are the Sperryville Fire Department and the Rappahannock Jaycees.
