At Measles Clinic
A total of 75 measles immuni zations given on Sunday, May 26, 1968 In Rappahannock Court ty certainly represents a good portion of the predicted susceptible population. In fact, the response of Rappahannock County residents is to be com mended. The doctors of Rappa hannock County are to be com mended in their effort designed to erase the reservoir of susceptibles in the area.
Through the efforts of the physicians who immunize their patients, the Health Department clinic programs and the mass measles Sunday, the eradication of measles for Rappahannock County can be more readily visualized. The wipe-out measles Sunday spon sored by the Rappahannock Jay cees has been conducted in joint cooperation with the American Medical Association, the United States public Health Service and the State Health Department’s program entitled “Measles Eradication 1967.” Appreciation should be extended to all those members of organizations in Rappahannock County who contributed their time which, in turn, made this program a success. They are The Rappahannock County Health Department, Dr J. P. Snead, Dr. L. A. Dickerson, The Rappahannock Jaycees, Mr. Wilson Burke, Mr. Jim Willis, Mrs. Francis Thorton, Mrs. Betty Estes, Rappahannock News, Northern Virginia Dailey, Culpeper Star-Exponent, Radio Stations WRAA, WFTR, WKCW, WEEK A special appreciation is extended to the nurses who donated their time necessary to the operation of the clinics.
