Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hall were in Alexandria several days last week called there by the death of Mr. Hall’s sister Mrs. Maude Hall Arrington. Funeral services were held in Alexandria June 4 with interment in Warrenton cemetery.
Page Moffett, having completed his Sophomore year at the University of Virginia, left by plane from Dulles Airport on Monday for Corpus Christj Texas where he will undergo aviation training for three weeks under the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Program at the University.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs H. Taylor Updike were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parker and two children of Culpeper and Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Taylor, Jr. and son of Falls Church. Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Burke spent from Thursday until Monday in Red Bank, N. J. They were guests of Mr, and Mrs. J. Fitzgerald and attended the opening of the Monmouth Race Track. The Burke’s Saturday guests were George Pullen of Ft. Myers, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. J. W, L Dodson of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smedley of Washingtn, D. C. and Mrs. Janie Beahm of the Gid Brown Hollow.
Dr. and Mrs. Ebbe Hoff ol Richmond were the week-end guests of the Rev. and Mrs. Charles Glaenzer at The Rectory.
Mr. and Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. were in Lexington Sunday to attend Baccalaureate Sermon and Commencement exercises at the Virginia Military Institute. Miss Dorothy Taylor Davis, whose fiance Reverdy Jones, Jr. was a member of the graduating class also attended and is now visiting Mr. Jones' parents Dr. and Mrs. Reverdy Jones in Fairmont, W. Va. Miss Segar Jones has summer employment at Skyland on the Skyline Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown of Winchester were callers Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Field Benton and son Hugh returned to Middlesboro, Ky. on Saturday after a week’s visit with Mrs. Benton’s brother-in-law and sister Judge and Mrs. B. M. Miller.
