Flower Show Has
Patriotic Theme
"God Bless America” is the theme of the Flower Show sponsored by the Rappahannock County Garden Club and scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 1969. The artistic exhibits will carry out the theme with such arrangements as “Land That I Love”, “Our Heritage”, and “Land of the Free”, to name some of them. There will be classes for everyone.
Horticultural exhibits will include Tulips, Peonies, Iris, Pansies, Roses, Potted Plants and Broadleaved Evergreens. In the Educational Exhibits will be Conservation, Native Ferns and local Indian Artifacts.
In the artistic exhibits there is a class for men only, “Our Woods and Temple Hill”. This features weathered wood on a gray-green background and an accessory is permitted.
For juniors under 12, an arrangement in a container found in the kitchen may be entered in the “Our Home Sweet Home” class.
