Thomas E. Jenkins
Thomas Ellet Jenkins of Sperryville died May 13, 1969 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He was 65, the son of the late Luther E. and Ada Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice S. Jenkins; one son, Marshall Jenkins of Culpeper; two daughters, Mrs. Luther Jenkins, Jr. of Sperryville and Mrs. Earl Jenkins, Remington and five grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Jack Jenkins, Winchester, Charlie Jenkins, Boyce, Reynolds Jenkins, Alexandria, Hubie and Carl Jenkins, both Falls Church; a sister, Mrs. Harry Deal of Sperryville.
A graveside funeral service will be held today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Sperryville Cemetery with the Rev. William A. Harrison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Sperryville Rescue Squad.
Mrs. Lillie Jenkins
A funeral service for Mrs. Lillie Sarah Jenkins was held Tuesday at 2:00 o’clock at Geest Funeral Chapel with burial in the family section of the Sperryville Cemetery. The Rev. John H. McKay, pastor of the Salem Baptist Church officiated.
Mrs. Jenkins, 90, wife of the late James L. Jenkins of Sperryville, died Sunday, May 11, 1969 at Western State Hospital, following a year’s illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Ida Atkins Brown of Rappahannock County, and since the death of her husband in 1954 has made her home with her daughters in Falmouth. Surviving are four daughters,
Mrs. Byrd Mitchell, Mrs. Ora) Embrey and Mrs. John Kemer of j Falmouth and Mrs. Princy Wood of Culpeper; two sons, Raymond and Lewis Jenkins of Falmouth;) seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jefferson ofl Sperryville and Mrs. Louise! Wilson of Tabbs.
Mr. and Mrs. William A. Curtis, Washington, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Leland Walter, Culpeper and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Heflin of The Plains.
Cliff Latham, a student at Shenandoah College, Winchester, spent the weekend with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Latham. He was accompanied back to Winchester Sunday afternoon by Mr. and Mrs. Latham as they were enroute to Martinsburg, W. Va. to visit her father, Otto Gilbert, a patient in Newton D. Baker Hospital.
