Store immediately after thorough sunning and brushing or cleaning. Protect garments from clothes moths by placing them in a box and using a sandwich fold in paper - folding ends of paper over twice at end and seal or tie securely. Seal garment bag securely at top around hanger and across the bottom after double fold. Use scotch tape or gummed paper. Whenever possible, always store in boxes rather than on coat hangers because the coat hangers can cause extra wear on the garment, especially if it is a heavy garment.
Use the extra precaution against clothes moths by adding paradicholorobenzine crystals or naphthalene flakes. Put crystals in bag or paper and lay on top of garments in box or hang in a bag close to the top, as the fumes are heavier than air and will fall.
Label contents of package so that seal will not be broken until garment is to be used. Put sweaters and skirts which match in one box for cold days or special occasions, rather than keep all sweaters and all skirts together. Thus you can open the box containing only what you need.
