Mrs. Lena Hudson
Mrs. Lena Strother Hudson, 78, died May 7, 1969 at the Virginia Baptist Home in Culpeper where she has been a resident for the past ten years. She was the wife of the late Isaiah Perry Hudson and resided at the family home in Vievtown for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Harrison Duncan and the late Jane Catherine Browning Duncan. Following the death of her husband in 1934, Mrs. Hudson did practical nursing in various homes in the county.
She is survived by Five sisters, Mrs. Herbert M. Grimsley, Mrs. Weston Grimsley and Mrs. R. M. Rohrer of Culpeper, Mrs. Mabel Duncan Berry and Mrs. Beatrice D. McClary of Richmond; and three brothers, R. E. Duncan of Los Angeles, California, B. H. Duncan of Valejo, California and Lee M. Duncan of Viewtown.
A funeral service was conducted on Friday at 2 o’clock by the Rev. Charles Kindred and the Rev. W. R. Snead at Geest Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Duncan section of the Fairview Cemetery.
Selected as pallbearers were William Bywaters, Ralph Rowzie, Elliott Doyle, Edward E. Duncan, Russell King, Clarence Batten, Frank Bruce, and Kenneth Carpenter.
Mr». Virgie Wince
Mrs. Virgie Grimsley Wince, 67, of Marshall died Sunday, May 11, 1969 at Fauquier Hospital. She was the owner and had operated Epes Store and Station at Orlean for 25 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena Medved and Mrs. Helen Bragg, both of Marshall; two sons, Howard Wince, Marshall and James Wirice Thompsonville, Conn.; and 14 grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday at Orlean Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles D. Stevens officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery.
Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, was in charge of arrangements.
