The dumping situation in the county consumed a great deal of time with discussion as to abuse by the residents of the county and occasional negligence on the part of the refuse service. However, the refuse company is presently under new ownership land most felt that more efficient service will be rendered now and in the future. Residents are urged to use these facilities with care and avoid putting objects too large in the dumpster units.
Resident Engineer James Skeens informed the Board that bids for the dual lane bypass around the Town of Washington have been let and the bids will be opened June 25. He said that construction should begin by August and a completion date has been set for November 1970. He also spoke of the meeting which is scheduled for July , 8 in Amissville to disclose and discuss the dual laning of Route 211 in that area.
The two elementary school buildings which remain in the possession of the county were discussed and to use or disposition. In the final analysis it was considered that bids should be taken for the razing of the oldest portions of the schools located at Washington and Sperry ville.
