barly bird license buyers are cautipned to ask for the 1969-70 license and to check to see that this is what they receive. In past years, some persons have merely asked for a fishing or hunting license and then discovered some weeks later in the field their “new” license had expired. Buying next year’s license before the current one expires is smart because each July arrest records are swelled by large numbers of procrastinators who failed to get their new license before making that July fishing trip.

Licenses are sold by county and city corporation clerks, plus many sporting goods stores. State resident hunting or fishing licenses still cost $3.50 and are valid from July 1, 1969 through June 30, 1970. Additional licenses are required to fish for trout or to hunt big game.
