We might call them Spurchases. Many things are purely bought on impulse. You had no previous intent to buy them. Spurchases are usually small items such as housewares, magazines, soft drinks, toys, candy, fancy baked goods, and gourmet foods. But Spurchases can include big purchases as well...clothing, home ’ furnishings and even cars.

Are you guilty of the next shopping sin •- “buying : unnecessary items”? This can : happen for several reasons. It may be your mood. When you are depressed, you may buy something to make yourself feel better. Maybe you make a purchase when you feel you deserve a reward or perhaps you buy just to keep up with the Joneses. Children urge you to buy whatever they see advertised on television. A shopping list will help you avoid this. Ask yourself if you really need an item or just want it because someone else has one. What another needs may not be what you need..
