Madison Center
Offers Sumi Painting
The Madison Center of the School of General Studies, University of Virginia, has made arrangements for a course in Sumi Painting to be given this summer in Madison.
The course will be taught by Mrs. Dorothy G. S. Skelton on Tuesday mornings for ten consecutive weeks, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, and will begin on Tuesday, June 17, 1969, at the Madison Center. Basic brush strokes will be stressed, and three classical methods of Sumi painting, Shin, Gyo, and So, will be presented. Necessary materials will be available at the first and second class meetings. Individual instruction will be emphasized so that students with varying backgrounds in art may work at their own levels.
The Sumi Painting class will be limited to twenty students. Registration may be made by mail and should be completed
