Amissville Rescue Squad received a false alarm on Wednesday, August 23. They were alerted to a man supposedly slumped over the steering wheel of his auto on Route 211. A thorough search revealed no one. This is uncalled for; a needless waste of valuable time offered by volunteers and an expense to the community where such things occur.
On August 24 Ricky Haines was taken to Fauquier Hospital where stitches were needed for a head laceration. Mrs. A. C. Latham was taken to Winchester Memorial Hospital on August 25 for treatment and returned home. Mrs. Paul Brown was taken to Fauquier Hospital on August 26. On the 31st, Jewett Smith was transported to Fauquier Hospital.
Amissville Fire Company responded to a fire in a tenant house on W. G. East ham’s farm, Red Hill on August 27.
Sperryville Rescue Squad took Janice Brown from the Harrison residence to Charlottesville on August 27. On Sunday Mrs. Emma Alther was taken to Culpeper and returned home and on Monday she was taken to the University of Virginia Hosital, Charlottesville and returned home, then returned too Charlottesville.
Rappahannock Rescue Squad on August 26 took Mrs. Eura Jordan from her home on the Fodderstack Road to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. On August 27, Thomas Bradley was taken from the scene of an accident at Massie's Corner to Warren Memorial Hospital. ,
Flint Hill Fire Company answered a call to a tenant house fire at Red Hill Farm in Amissville last Thursday.
