Mrs. Lillian Alther
A funeral service was held Saturday at Geest Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Lillian Alther, 74, wife of George Alther of Sperryville, who died August 26, 1970 at Warren Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. Rev. Archie Clatterbuck conducted the service, assisted by Rev. Jose Esteban Hernandez of Katehuala, Mexico. Burial was in the family section of Washington Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Alther was the daughter of the late Wade and Edrina 'Clatterbuck of Sperryville.
Besides her husband she is surved by three daughters, Mrs. Irene Frazier and Mrs. Raymond Ralls of Sperryville and Miss Nellie Alther of Falls Church; three sons, Levi Alther of Washington, John William and Ray Alther of Sperryville. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Susie Bailey of Berryville, Mrs. Sadie Jones of Bentonville, Mrs. Bertha Jones, Browntown and Mrs. Callie Ralls of Sperryville; one brother, Ray Clatterbuck of Front Royal; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
