“Hey Rap! What’s this Beef Cattle Referendum all about? Is it worth a dam? If it passes it’s going to cost me another 15 cents to sell my cattle. What I want to know is who will spend this money and what it will be spent for?” This is the kind of good, practical, response I have been getting to the proposed Beef Industry Self-Help Program. The best way to get the answer to these questions is to come to the special beef cattle referendum meeting this coming Monday, September 7, 7:30 p.m. at the Court House. Allen Stokes and Charles Woodward, Co-Chairmen of the County Beef Self-Help Referendum Committee have invited Martin Strate, Executive Secretary, Virginia Beef Cattle Association to do the explaining. Why not stop by, ask questions and express your opinions.
Any Virginians who owned ten or more beef or dairy cattle on January 1, 1970 or July 1, 1970 will be eligible to vote in the November referendum provided he completes and returns his voter’s eligibility form b> October 14. If you have nol received a voter’s eligibility form in the mail by now, stop by the Extension Office. We have ar ample supply on hand. — ■ ■ i ■ A
