Robinson Endorses
Drug Abuse Bill
Rep. J. Kenneth Robinson introduced in the House today a bill to place in effect President Nixon’s proposal for a special federal agency to co-ordinate programs of drug abuse prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, training, education and research. The new agency would be known as the Special Action Office for Drug Abuse Prevention and would be a unit of the Executive Office of the President. According to the 7th District Congressman, it would have “overall authority for planning, policy-setting, objectives and priorities for all federal domestic programs of drug abuse, excluding law-enforcement activities.”
