At 7 p.m. Tuesday night, two vehicles collided at Chester Gap on Route 610. A 1967 Ford pickup owned by Crowell Brothers Construction Co. of Lynchburg operated by William Ronald Deal of Sperryville and a 1962 Falcon operated by Irvin Melton Williams of Chester Gap were involved. According to investigating officer Trooper J. B. Willis, The Falcon was parked discharging a passenger when the truck backed up the road and struck it. Both drivers were charged; one with improper parking and the other with improper backing.
