for several years. They both work in the American Embassy in Ankara, Turkey where he is an interpreter and his wife, Sevin, is a personnel technician. Both were educated at and hold degrees from Ankara College, and it was there that they learned English which they speak fluently.
It was through the embassy work that the Swindlers and Oraks met while Mr. Swindler was assigned to the Defense Attache Office of the American Embassy from January of 1966 through December 1969. Cengiz and Sevin have worked at the Embassy for the past 7 years. The Swindlers often talked about their Virginia farm to which they would return when Mr. Swindler retired from the service and hoped that sometime their friends could visit here. Sevin said, “We are so glad that we were able to come here and see Jim, Phyllis and the children after two years. It was very interesting to see the farm which we have been talking about. It was nice to see the things we had shopped for together, now in the house; things like rugs, Turkish brass, dishes and other souvenirs in the Virginia
