In Paul’s Epistle to the Christians in Rome, chapter 16, verse 16, we find these words: “Salute one another with an holy kiss.” What is a holy kiss, what is any kiss for that matter? A doctor might say it is the juxtaposition of two obicularis muscles, a mathematician might say it is nothing divided by two; I guess it is left to the individual as to what it means. My mother said, “A kiss is not worth a hill of beans unless it is prompted by sincerity.” And that is what is on my mind at this time. On a recent trip I passed near the school in which I attended tenth grade. As memory will do, it took me back to a day when we were discussing some scientific problem; I was called on to recite, after which this girl across the aisle reached over and kissed me.
