Duncan C. Gibb, member of the Virginia House of Delegates, has been appointed to the Commission created to study the desirability and feasability of lowering the age of majority to eighteen years. Delegate Gibb will serve with four other members of the House of Delegates, four members of the State Senate, and two members to be appointed by the Governor. The Commission will make its report to the Governor and the General Assembly by December 1, 1971. Members of the Commission will receive no compensation for their services, but will be re imbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
Delegate Gibb further stated that the Commission was appointed pursuant to a resolution adopted by the House of Delegates and the Senate at the just completed Special Session of the General Assembly.
