Santa Claus Is
Coming to Town
The Jaycees of Rappahannock under the direction of their president, Wilson Burke, are making it easy for the children of Rappahannock and Santa Claus to get together at the Library at Washington, Va. on Saturday, December 18, at 3:30 p.m. That’s the date that Santa Claus has said he’s coming to town with goodies, a gift, and a big hello for every child who comes to the Library’s Christmas Party.
“If any child doesn’t have a ride to the Party we’ll see that he gets there if his parents will just call me at the Sperryville Corner Store, telephone number 987-8185 by Friday, December 17,” Mr. Burke announced. On Saturday, December 11, the regular Chilren’s Hour at the Library from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. will be devoted to the decoration of the children’s own tree. All children attending will be given an opportunity to make their own ornaments and hang them on the tree. They can also enjoy another tree already decorated which will be on display for a week before the party. The trees are the donation of Captain and Mrs. William J. Keim who grow them on their farm in Amissville.
Christmas Pageant
The Sperryville United Methodist Church will have its annual Christmas Pageant the “Birth of Christ” on December 19 at 8 p.m. A warm welcome is extended all.
