The week at RCHS started off with a bang as the basketball season got under way with a pep rally which was held Tuesday during sixth period. There was a skit by Freshman class and one by the cheerleaders about sportsmanship. Coach Ellis and Coach Hahn introduced the Panther teams and the cheerleaders led the students in some great cheers that really boosted the spirit around school. The pep rally ended with a shout of “Victory over the Bulldogs” from the assembly.

The school’s athletic department is dependent upon the money made during basketball games. The community is urged to come out and support the school and the Panthers.

Mrs. Yakim’s Sopomore English classes have been working hard on a very unique and interesting project. The students are working on a poetry section and were asked to complete a project with pictures and poems giving their feelings on loneliness. Some of the sophomore’s thoughts were: Loneliness is being unable to communicate with someone you are close to; Loneliness is getting old; Loneliness is freedom; Loneliness is another sort of love storv.
