E.J. PULLEN of Amissville escaped serious injury early Sunday morning when he lost control of his 1974 Ford on Route 642 near Hack - ley’s Store and struck a tree.
Damage to the vehicle was set at a thousand dollars, according to Trooper R.A. Baines, who investigated. □

QUILT AWARDED
The handsome handmade quilt made by members of the Rappahannock Arts and Crafts Group i and given away October 20 was awarded J.Newbill filler of Washington, Va. A second prize, a crocheted afghan, was given Frances Fox of Front Royal. Proceeds from the benefit went to the various rescue units in the county.□
