THE Rappahannock County Education Association has asked the school board for a ten percent increase in teacher’s salaries. At the school board meeting last Tuesday night, representatives of the Association said the teachers want the increases to become effective for the 1975-76 school year. The school board took no action on the request.

for sheriff
Everett Estes, resplendent in a red blazer, was the first person to speak at last Thursday’s February meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors.
He told the Board members he’d resigned as a deputy sheriff in order to run for election as sheriff in the election next fall. Estes shook hands all around and told the Supervisors he looked forward to working with them. Sheriff John Walker Jenkins, who says he intends to run for re-election, watched impassively. There are reports in the county that ' still another candidate for sheriff is waiting in the wings. □
