Space study
A STUDY committee has been named by Pete Luke, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, to consider possible ways of consolidating or. simplifying the ^ housing of various county or coun- ^ ty-related offices. As things are now, some public offices are “scattered all over the county,” said Luke at last Thursday’s February meeting of the board, and the county needs to see if there are ways to better utilize existing structures, avoid paying unnecessary rent, &c.
Luke suggested that Fanning Baumgardner, George Davis, H. B. Wood and J.R. Latham serve with him to look into the possible ramifications. Wood declined, suggesting that Walter Masterson be named instead. Luke agreed to the change.
In bringing up the subject, Luke said the “problems of space” will probably be made more acute by the decision of Warren County to “drop out” of a joint school administration arrangement with Rappahannock. Rappahannock will now have to acquire its own system superintendent, and attendant office help.D
