“I wouldn’t bother it,” Newbill Miller agreed. “The economy will take care of growth for a year or _ two anyway.”
Said Pete Luke, “I make a motion we table this for discussion at the next planning commission meeting.” Said George Davis: “The planning commission can always have their own hearing.”
WHILE Baumgardner and Newbill Miller carried on a side debate, Latham withdrew his motion and Luke then moved that the hearing question be tabled and the planning commission asked to hold its own hearing.
Herbert Foster, before voting in agreement, expounded about how he didn’t like the suggested change in trailer park setbacks. Changing it from 10 to 50 feet was too much, he thought. Baumgardner argued that trailer parks ereate more complicated problems than single residences, and he thought 50 feet was barely enough. “It’s a right smart jump from 10 to 50,” insisted Foster.
Then the planning commission request was tabled, with a counter request that they hold their own hearing. The vote was unanimous. —IJ.E.D.
