New Culpeper

executive

JAMES M. WHITE, physical planner for the RappahannockXRapidan District Planning Com'mission, will leave that post July 1 to become county executive for Culpeper County. As a member of the District Planning Commission staff, White has met regularly with members of Rappahannock’s Planning Commission to work on the county’s first comprehensive plan.

White said he expects most of the work on Rappahannock’s comprehensive plan to be completed before he leaves the district staff. “We’ve talked about a timetable and it looks like the basic work on the master plan will be done by then, if all goes on schedule,” he said.

A graduate of Muskingham College in Ohio, White has a master’s degree in planning from the University of Virginia. He has worked for the Cayahoga County, Ohio, Planning Commission, which incorporates the city of Cleveland, where his duties involved fiscal planning and capital improvements programs.
