Association estimated the proposed salary increases and fringe benefits would amount to a budget increase of $106,034. The salary scale proposed by the Education Association would raise the base teacher’s salary from $7,700 to $8,470.

They also proposed that teachers be granted a $300 raise on top of the base salary for each year of teaching experience. The highest salary possible under the salary scale recommended by the Education Association would be $14,870 for a teacher with 13 years’ experience and a doctorate degree.

For non-degree teachers, the Education Association recommended a salary of $10,570. Fringe benefits for each, teacher included in the Education Association’s proposal would be $10 toward health insurance premiums, totaling $6,960 for all employes of the school board; full payment of the cost of mandatory life insurance, totaling $4,608; payment of $7 toward the physical examination required of all school board employes, totaling $406.
