“seminars or any other meetings or entertainment for the media in the past five years? How much has been spent for lobbyists in Richmond? How much, if anything, has been spent to entertain key state legislators, and how has it been spent?
Since Mr. McCammond was so responsive to my last letter, I herewith respectfully challenge him and his company to supply public answers to these questions as a matter of vital public interest. In past years it’s the electric consumer who has borne the burden of heavy public relations and advertising expenses.
As to McCammond’s facile use of the word “half-truths,” he closes his letter with a reminder that inflation has raised the price of everything, and therefore we cannot expect the cost of electricity to remain the same. Surely not, but he very conveniently failed to mention that the increased cost of electricity in 1974 was more than double the general cost of living increase, as widely reported in news stories. So much for “half-truths.”
